“Reviravolta de Gaia”, a book by Rivane Neuenschwander and Mariana Lacerda, registers a series of actions carried out by “Floresta de Cristal” collective, a group of protesters who participated in public protests in 2021 and 2022. Dressed in flora, fauna and fungus masks, carrying plants and slogans, the protesters in the moving forest denounced the destruction of the environment, the genocide of indigenous peoples, and the violent and denialist policies of the then-elected government in managing the pandemic. Bringing a new grammar to the demonstrations, the collective contributed to the semantic and symbolic friction of political organization. With texts by Achille Mbembe, Coletivo Centelha, Déborah Danowski, Inês Grosso, João Paulo Lima Tukano, Lisette Lagnado and Peter Pál Pelbart. Published by Cobogó and co-edited with n-1.
